Description
During this 2 hour course elementary teachers will engage in discussion about "Making the Case for Science in the Elementary Classroom" using STEM Teaching tools and current articles on distant learning. Teachers will learn about online tools available through the Carolina Science Online Platform as well as the redesigned and modified the Smithsonian Science 1st-5th grade units and the Building Blocks of Science for Kindergarten teachers. These online unit lesson plans will be introduced and links to access the documents will be provided. Teachers will also have time in grade level breakout rooms to discuss grade level specific content adaptations. Time will also be provided for peer sharing and problem solving.
