Description

10:00-11:30am

Power of School Improvement Planning 101: Why is Goal Setting necessary for Systems Change?

Everyone’s got a School Improvement Plan. Let’s bring it to life! As schools are facing so much change this year, a School Improvement Plan can help a school set meaningful goals that will help create systems change. Through this webinar you’ll get a chance to see why goal setting based in equity and anti-racism is necessary for the success of all learners. We’ll have Mabton School District with us to talk about their School Improvement Plan and activities at Artz Fox Elementary School. You’ll also learn to differentiate and identify SMARTIE goals that can be tackled in a 1-3 year period. We’re also planning to host breakout rooms at the end of the program for participants that would like to learn from peers across the state.

3:00pm-4:30pm

Power of School Improvement Planning 201: What helps make school improvement goals reality?

Let’s go deeper on SMARTIE Goals. Goals are attained through careful monitoring, so we’ll be talking about how to measure the success of your improvement activities through formative and summative assessments in a way that makes review a reflex. Mount Adams School District will be with us to talk about how they are implementing their SMARTIE Goals at Harrah Elementary through an ever evolving process. We’re also planning to host breakout rooms at the end of the program for participants that would like to learn from peers across the state about the real challenges, successes, and opportunities with implementing improvement activities.
