Description
Welcome to ‘Educating the Whole Child with UDL and SEL’! Throughout this course, you will learn how to apply the best practices of the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) frameworks alongside one another to improve student outcomes. Together, these frameworks create a powerful combination that can help us address high-stress levels that interfere with learning and can create inequitable outcomes among our students. Today, this is more important than ever as students grapple with the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, racial injustice, and more.
In this series, participants will access materials in an 8 module asynchronous Canvas course with the option to engage in live training and/or follow-up discussions with their region’s Inclusionary Practices Coordinator. Participants should already have a broad understanding of what Universal Design for Learning is and why they would like to implement it in their classroom.
You may earn up to 40 clock hours for participation in this course; 5 clock hours per module. Time includes review of the materials in the Canvas course, creating and adapting your own lessons, and live or written discussion.
