Building Trauma-Informed Coaches & Educators
Learning Goals
- Understand the Science of Trauma and Its Impact on Development
- Gain a foundational knowledge of stress, trauma, and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and how they affect brain development, stress responses, and long-term mental and physical health.
- Develop and Apply Trauma-Informed Practices
- Learn and implement trauma-informed approaches and communication strategies to create a safe and supportive healing-centered environment for youth, especially those with a history of ACEs.
- Use Movement and Play to Enhance Emotional Regulation and Mental Skills
- Explore the benefits of movement, play, and positive social interactions in promoting self-regulation, resilience, and cognitive skills, and understand how to incorporate these into daily practices.
- Apply Practical Tools and Resources for Supporting Youth
- Utilize provided workbooks with current data, research, and best practices, including restorative circle methods, warm-ups, and lesson plans, to support youth with empathy and effectiveness.
These goals aim to empower educators and coaches with both the theoretical knowledge and practical tools to foster resilience, emotional regulation, and positive learning experiences among youth.
