Learning Opportunity 1: Canva for Beginners & Intermediate Users

Course Description: 

This comprehensive two-session Canva course is designed to empower educators with the digital design skills needed to transform their classrooms and enhance student engagement. Whether you're new to Canva or looking to expand your creative toolkit, this hands-on program will guide you from mastering the platform's fundamental features to implementing student-centered design projects that promote collaboration and digital citizenship. Through practical activities and real-world applications, you'll learn to create professional instructional materials, streamline classroom organization, develop interactive assignments, and foster student creativity through collaborative design projects.


Session 1: Getting Started with Canva (1.5 hours) Begin your Canva journey with an exploration of the platform's fundamental features and interface. Start with creating a free educator account, understanding the dashboard navigation, and learning about Canva for Education benefits. Practice with basic design elements including text manipulation, image uploads, and working with templates. Engage in hands-on activities creating classroom materials such as worksheets, posters, and simple presentations.

Session 2: Expanding Your Canva Skills (1.5 hours) Focus on student-centered learning activities and project management. Learn to create assignment templates, monitor student progress, and provide effective feedback. Discover strategies for fostering digital citizenship, setting up collaborative group work, and student presentations.

PLEASE NOTE: The registration fee for this course is $20.00. Once the course has been completed and verified by the instructor, you must pay the clock-hour fee of $3.00 per clock hour, and the administration fee. Claiming three clock hours plus a $5.00 administration fee, and registration of $20.00 is $34.00 total. Clock hour verification from this training takes approximately two weeks.
