Description
Mindshifting is learning how to tap into the resourcefulness of our own minds and inspire resourcefulness in others. It creates a much more collaborative framework for individuals and organizations.
Mindshifting: Flexible Mindsets for Long Term Success provides a framework and methodology to think critically about problems, to prepare to learn and adjust, to prepare for and react to uncertainty and obstacles, and to deal with people who disagree or oppose us, whether they do it deliberately or accidentally. This course will provide educators and students a framework for assessing problems and opportunities, coming up with solutions, listening to how other people are framing situations, and choosing what to do next in order to start and continue down a productive path instead of endless debates, inaction, half-hearted attempts, and dead-end game plans.
Over the long term, success depends on being able to prevail despite uncertainty and unpredictable change. This doesn’t happen by accident; this happens through preparing to iterate quickly and well, observing the situation with discernment, analyzing and synthesizing to devise possible solutions, selecting the beneficial options, acting in ways that add to our own abilities and knowledge while minimizing the ability of unforeseen events and opposition to derail our progress, and then modifying our actions based on results.
Mindshifting 2 provides educators the tools to advance students in the following practices:
social emotional intelligence
diversity and inclusion
the growth mindset
critical thinking
Perseverance and grit
innovation
problem solving
communications skills
Prerequisite: None. Mindshifting 1 covered the mindsets, concepts, and techniques used in order to be resourceful. How to come back from being triggered, and how to persevere in the face of adversity and opponents. Mindshifting 2 covers different concepts and techniques.
