Participants will learn how to define transition assessments, distinguish between formal and informal types, and understand their purpose in identifying a student’s strengths, needs, preferences, and interests. The session highlights the legal requirements under IDEA for conducting age-appropriate transition assessments and explains how the results are used to develop meaningful, measurable postsecondary goals in the areas of education, employment, and independent living.
