Description
This training supports educators in identifying and explicitly teaching the critical transition skills students need for success in adulthood. Participants will explore key skill areas—including employment readiness, independent living, and self-advocacy—and understand the importance of making these skills a core part of IEP development and classroom instruction.
The session emphasizes the teaching of soft skills such as communication, time management, teamwork, and problem-solving using practical, student-friendly strategies and materials. Educators will also learn how to incorporate real-world learning experiences like Pre-ETS programs, job shadowing, and community-based instruction (CBI) to deepen skill development.
