Description

Nonviolent Crisis Prevention De-escalation Training (CPI) provides staff the skills to de-escalate an escalating situation, manage escalated verbal behavior, and react to challenging behavior through a trauma informed lens. CPI's guiding philosophies are CARE, WELFARE, SAFETY, and SECURITY. 

This training is conducted through a combination of lecture, discussion, and active participation. 

This session will cover the following modules: 

  • Introduction
  • Module 1 - Understanding Behavior and Its Risk
  • Module 2: The CPI Crisis Development Model
  • Module 3: Integrated Experience
  • Module 4: Supportive Communication Skills
  • Module 5: Responding to Defensive Behaviors
  • Module 6: Safety Interventions - Disengagement Skills Only
  • Module 7: Post-Crisis

Attendees will be provided a copy of the CPI workbook as part of the attendance at this event. 

In the event that the minimal number of attendees is not met the event will be cancelled.
