Description
Nonviolent Crisis Prevention De-escalation Training (CPI) provides staff the skills to de-escalate an escalating situation, manage escalated verbal behavior, and react to challenging behavior through a trauma informed lens. CPI's guiding philosophies are CARE, WELFARE, SAFETY, and SECURITY.
This training is conducted through a combination of lecture, discussion, and active participation.
This session will cover the following modules:
- Introduction
- Module 1 - Understanding Behavior and Its Risk
- Module 2: The CPI Crisis Development Model
- Module 3: Integrated Experience
- Module 4: Supportive Communication Skills
- Module 5: Responding to Defensive Behaviors
- Module 6: Safety Interventions - Disengagement Skills Only
- Module 7: Post-Crisis

Attendees will be provided a copy of the CPI workbook as part of the attendance at this event.
In the event that the minimal number of attendees is not met the event will be cancelled.
