Learning Opportunity 1: Canva for Beginners

Course Description: 

This comprehensive two-session Canva course is designed to empower educators with the digital design skills needed to transform their classrooms and enhance student engagement. Whether you're new to Canva or looking to expand your creative toolkit, this hands-on program will guide you from mastering the platform's fundamental features to implementing student-centered design projects that promote collaboration and digital citizenship. Through practical activities and real-world applications, you'll learn to create professional instructional materials, streamline classroom organization, develop interactive assignments, and foster student creativity through collaborative design projects.


Session 1: Getting Started with Canva (1.5 hours) Begin your Canva journey with an exploration of the platform's fundamental features and interface. Start with creating a free educator account, understanding the dashboard navigation, and learning about Canva for Education benefits. Practice basic design elements, including text manipulation, image uploads, and template use. Engage in hands-on activities and create classroom materials, including worksheets, posters, and simple presentations.

Session 2: Expanding Your Canva Skills (1.5 hours) Focus on student-centered learning activities and project management. Learn to setup and create assignment templates in the Canva classroom. Discover strategies for fostering digital citizenship, setting up collaborative group work, and student presentations.

Event Notes

PLEASE NOTE: The registration fee for this course is $15.00. Once the course has been completed and verified by the instructor, you must pay the clock-hour fee of $3.00 per clock hour and the administration fee. Claiming three clock hours plus a $5.00 administration fee, and registration of $15.00 is $29.00 total. Clock-hour verification for this training takes approximately 1 week. While this course is for Beginners, it can also be a review, plus may include recently added features you are not aware of!
