Description

This is a unit for third grade students aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards (Washington State Science Learning Standards). In the unit, students will explore the topic of what animals need to survive and how animals are affected when their habitat changes. Throughout the unit students engage in science and engineering practices, various crosscutting concepts, and core ideas from life science and engineering. This Asynchronous Canvas course prepares teachers to: • Access online teacher and student resources • Develop understanding of the unit’s storyline, instructional model, and standards alignment. • Organize and manage the materials in the unit to support student learning activities. • Support and assess student sense-making with a variety of strategies, including science notebooks. • Provide examples or resources about STEM-related career choices to use with students
