This blended learning course is designed for K–12 educators and focuses on building the media literacy, digital citizenship, digital literacy, and AI literacy needed to confidently teach, model, and integrate these skills into classroom learning. Through a combination of three live Zoom sessions and asynchronous Canvas modules, participants will deepen their own understanding while exploring practical, classroom-ready strategies.

Educators will examine realistic classroom scenarios—such as misinformation, online conflict, and AI-generated content—and practice scaffolding these concepts in ways that promote student understanding, agency, and responsible decision-making. The course emphasizes connections among these literacies, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), social-emotional learning (SEL), and digital wellness, ensuring instruction is inclusive and aligned with standards teachers already use.

Participants will also engage in small-group discussions with peers and adapt or create actionable resources connected to units or lessons they already teach, supporting immediate classroom application.

This course is designed to be fully participatory and includes three required live Zoom sessions in addition to asynchronous work on Canvas. Active engagement is an essential part of the learning experience. To support meaningful interaction, participants should plan to join live Zoom sessions using a computer with speakers, a camera, and a microphone.
