This School Nurse Continuing Education training is intended to provide school nurses in the School Nurse Corps with updated information on health care practices in Washington state schools, new and pending legislation that impacts school nurses, current immunization schedules, procedures and protocols, and ongoing education regarding health equity. It’s also an opportunity to receive updates on various affiliated NEWESD 101 programs, including school nutrition, public health, and school information systems. The afternoon session(s) will focus on understanding of SMART Therapy for Asthma.

After this training participant(s) will be able to: 

• Describe any new updates/legislation as it pertains or impacts school nursing
• Understand the audiology resources available for school nurses
• Understand the concept of SMART Therapy for Asthma
