Description
Terminology around relationships is continually changing. Language is shifting away from “healthy” and “unhealthy” to describe relationships, as young people who have only seen or experienced what is traditionally labeled “unhealthy” may think they are not capable of having a “healthy” one. The focus of this training is to better understand how to help young people explore different types of relationships, understand what supportive and unsupportive behaviors look like, and think about what types of behaviors they want in their own relationships. In this three-hour training you’ll learn about how to teach about relationships in a way that makes it clear that all people should and deserve to set their own boundaries for the type of relationships they do and don’t want.
Event Notes
This training event is intended to support school district staff in meeting legislative requirements for comprehensive sexual health education as described in RCW 28A.300.475, and sex trafficking awareness and prevention education as described in RCW 28A.320.168.
