Description

Season 2 of Making Learning Stick builds on Jim Knight’s High Impact Instruction and continues the collaborative learning experience started in Season 1. This asynchronous professional development series invites educators to go deeper into the instructional and cultural practices that make learning visible, durable, and meaningful for students. Across six focused modules (2 hours each), participants will explore core elements of high-impact instruction, including setting and reinforcing expectations, witnessing and amplifying what students do well, providing fluent and efficient corrections, fostering learning-friendly classroom cultures, and balancing structure with student autonomy. The course uses a blended learning approach that includes short podcasts, guided reflection prompts, and interactive activities housed in Canvas. Participants will engage in individual reflection and collaborative dialogue to examine their own instructional practices and identify small, actionable shifts that support student engagement, clarity, and ownership of learning. This learning experience is flexible, accessible from anywhere, and applicable to any instructional role. Educators will leave with a stronger understanding of high-impact teaching practices and a practical lens for creating classrooms where learning truly sticks.
