This professional development workshop introduces educators to using The Sloth Chronicles in K–5 classrooms to support Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Participants will explore how the story and characters can help young learners develop self-awareness, empathy, and emotional regulation. Through interactive read-aloud strategies, discussions, and hands-on activities, educators will learn how to connect the book’s themes to real-life situations and classroom routines. The session will also highlight age-appropriate SEL practices, assessment ideas, and ways to create a positive classroom environment. By the end of the workshop, participants will have practical tools to integrate SEL using engaging, story-based learning experiences.
