Description

The Washington State Mathematics Learning Standards (WA Math 2025) is here!

Join us via Zoom on May 20 from 4:00–5:30 PM to explore with the newly adopted WA Math 2025 standards.

In this interactive session, participants will explore what has changed, what remains familiar, and what these shifts mean for classroom instruction and student learning. Through guided activities and discussion, we will examine how the new standards are organized and how they support coherence, reasoning, and sense-making across grades.

Participants will engage in a structured walk-through of WA Math 2025, with attention to:

  • What is new and what remains familiar in content and expectations

  • Key organizational shifts, including the introduction of domains such as Data Analysis and updated fluency language

  • Connections to instruction, including how standards support reasoning, modeling, and student discourse

  • Implications for teaching and learning, with opportunities to reflect on current practice and next steps

While this session is primarily focused on K–5 mathematics, educators and leaders across grade levels are welcome and will gain insight into the broader K–12 coherence and progression of the standards.
