Intelligent Lesson Design: Using AI to Enhance and Iterate Math Instruction is a three session professional learning series for K–12 math teachers focused on improving instruction, not learning tools. Participants will identify a real math problem of practice from their classroom and explore how AI can be used as a pedagogical partner to support planning, task design, feedback, and instructional decisions while maintaining mathematical rigor, equity, and professional judgment. Through collaboration, reflection, and hands-on application, participants will critically evaluate AI outputs, refine instructional strategies, and develop classroom resources aligned to student thinking and mathematical goals. The emphasis is on using AI intentionally, as a pedagogical partner, to support teacher thinking and strengthen mathematics teaching.

Tool Spotlight: We’ll be using Colleague AI as the primary platform for this training. You’ll have the opportunity to explore its features during and after the sessions. If your district uses a different AI tool, that’s perfectly fine—you can apply the strategies and activities using any platform approved by your district.

Note: Clock hours will not be able to be claimed until the conclusion of the last session, May 27, 2026. Clock hours are $3.00 per clock hour with a $15.00 minimum per person per event. Even if less than 3 clock hours are claimed, the minimum $15.00 clock hour fee still applies.
