As the end of the 2026-26 school year draws near, it is time to start thinking about the steps necessary to close out Skyward SMS Food Service as well as prepare for the new school year.  For your convenience we are providing a Zoom session to show the processes and answer questions. We will walk through the Food Service Year End Preparation and Process and Food Service Tasks - Post Student Year End documents. 

The Food Service Year End Preparation demonstration will include:

1. Updating abandoned online payments (if applicable) 
2. The Food Service Audit 
3. Moving Food Service Balances to Sibling Accounts 
4. Food Service Refunds for Inactive Payors 
5. Food Service Year End Reports 
6. InTouch Users Only – Turn off Scheduled Tasks to Batch Update Payments 
7. Update Food Service Configuration End Date

Food Service Year End Process demonstration will include:

The actual Food Service Year End closes the books for the 2024-2025 school year and prepares the database for the 2024-2025 school year. This process MUST be completed AFTER the last day of school and PRIOR to the Student Records Year End.  Contact your district’s Skyward SMS Student Records Administrator to verify the specific day they plan to process the Student Records Year End.  Once you have completed the Food Service Year End, fill-out and sign the Food Service Year End Check List found at the beginning of the document.  The person responsible for Student Records Year End will not be able to proceed without the signed document.  

Food Service Post Student Year End demonstration will include:

Steps must be taken to prepare the database for the new school year for Food Service. Complete these tasks AFTER the Student Records Year End and the database is in the new school year.

1. Update Pseudo Application Letter to Families 
2. InTouch Users Only – Schedule Tasks 
3. Post Student Records Year End Processes
