This training is intended for those who will be Level 2 Community Team Members.

The Level 2 Threat Assessment – Community Partner Training will facilitate the development of the NCESD 171 Level 2 team and should include district level administrators and mental health/assessment practitioners, administrators and practitioners from community mental health, representatives from juvenile services and law information and other community agencies available to support the team.

The training will provide the following:

· Review the basic concepts and research of threat assessment with a focus on youth risk factors.

· Review of pathway behavior associated with targeted violence.

· Review the application of threat assessment concepts and research in a site-based protocol, called a Level 1 and a community-based assessment structure, called a Level 2.

· Brief instruction on how building level assessment team conduct Level 1 threat assessments, including problem solving hurdles to successful referral to a community-based Level 2 threat assessment support team.

· Q and A and problem solving that address each school district’s/communities’ unique needs.

*This Student Treat Assessment Training will take place by ZOOM. (A Zoom link will be sent out the day before the training to attendees that are registered.)

IMPORTANT NOTE:

All prospective attendees of Level 2 should complete Level 1 training prior to attending Level 2 training (or plan to attend and complete Level 1 training shortly after this training).

Both Level 1 and Level 2 trainings are required if you are a community member sitting on the Level 2 Team.

Building Administrators should also take both levels of Student Threat Assessment training to have a comprehensive understanding of the model and its processes.
