Description
This training invites all Naches School District staff — across every grade level and content area — to explore practical, research-based strategies for proactively designing instruction that works for every student. Grounded in the principles of inclusive instructional design, the Universal Supports framework challenges us to move beyond one-size-fits-all teaching by anticipating barriers before they arise and building flexible pathways for engagement, learning, and expression into our everyday practice. Through hands-on activities, collaborative small group exploration, and guided lesson planning, participants will deepen their understanding of how variability is the rule in our classrooms — not the exception — and how supporting students with IEPs and 504 plans benefits every learner in the room. Whether you are a classroom teacher, specialist, paraeducator, or administrator, this training offers tools and thinking you can apply starting with your very next lesson. Firm goals. Flexible means. Every student belongs here.
