In this training participants will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the CEL 5D Instructional Framework & 5D+ Rubric for Instructional Growth and Teacher Evaluation. By the end of this stage, participants will:

• Develop and apply the skills associated with growth-focused evaluation process.
  • Objective: Administrators/Teachers will identify how instructional frameworks explicitly support teacher growth in culturally responsive and equitable teaching practices.
• Recognize the potential impact of identity and bias in the observation process.
  • Objective: Administrators will recognize how identity, implicit bias, and evaluator subjectivity can influence classroom observation, and will apply strategies to reduce bias in evidence collection, interpretation, and feedback.

Intended Audience:  Principals, Assistant Principals, and central office staff who evaluate teachers under the TPEP evaluation system.

In the 6 clock hours that are provided, participants may select up to 6 leadership clock hours and up to 2 equity clock hours (not to exceed 6 total clock hours). Equity clock hours are aligned to CCDEI Standards 1a (Understanding Self), 1c (Responsiveness), 3b (Collaboration), 4c (Advocacy).

For all instructional frameworks, the Stage 1 & 2 training aligns to the following PSEL standards: 4, 6, 7
