Description

Welcome to Neurodiversity in the Literacy Classroom, a self-paced book study built around M. Colleen Cruz's guide for general educators, Neurodiversity in the Literacy Classroom: The General Educator's Guide to IEPs, Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism, and More (Corwin Literacy, 2026).

Across four modules, participants move from foundational, strengths-based inclusive practice into specific learner profiles — dyslexia, then ADHD and autism. Each module pairs targeted reading with reflection, discussion, and application tasks, so participants leave with concrete strategies ready for their own classrooms — not just background knowledge.

By the end of this course, participants will have:

- Confidence designing learning experiences that focus on the strengths of the neurodiverse students they serve

- Capacity to lower or remove barriers in the learning environment for neurodiverse learners

- Alignment between strategy and purpose — the ability to explain why they're doing what they're doing to support student success

Materials needed: Participants must have their own copy of the text (available via Amazon or Kindle).
