Administered by ESD 105

Presenters

Description

Goldendale K-12 educators will explore why Washington’s ELA and mathematics learning standards were revised and become familiar with their vision, organization, and key shifts. Participants will consider how the 2026 standards position students as active decision-makers who reason, communicate, collaborate, and make meaning across content areas.

Through interactive ELA, mathematics, and data literacy experiences tailored to elementary and secondary settings, participants will examine procedural fluency, interpret and communicate information from data, develop investigative questions, and make their thinking visible. Collaborative protocols will help educators identify connections across content areas and consider the classroom conditions needed to support student agency, equitable participation, productive discourse, and deeper learning. Participants will leave with questions and next steps to guide continued standards learning and implementation.
