Description

This training is for Bridgeport K-12 teachers only.

This training explores the connection between executive functioning, ADHD, developmental stages, and the impact of trauma on students’ ability to learn, regulate, and engage at school. Participants will build a deeper understanding of executive functioning and “thinking about thinking,” while exploring how stress, trauma, and adverse childhood experiences can affect behavior and access to these skills. Through a trauma-informed lens, educators will learn practical strategies for supporting regulation, building safety and connection, and creating classroom environments that reduce barriers to learning. The day will conclude with action planning so participants can identify specific, meaningful changes they can bring back to their classrooms.
