The Leaders for STEM Equity Network represents the next evolution of the Puget Sound Science Leaders Collaborative, Puget Sound LASER bringing together its strong community of science leaders with PSESD's mathematics leaders to create a regional network where science, mathematics, and curriculum leaders come together to reimagine what equitable, integrated STEM education can be. Grounded in the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine's (NASEM) Equity in K–12 STEM Education research and guided by a Street Data approach, district/school leadership teams will work alongside one another to dream boldly, identify meaningful change goals, and build lasting systems that expand opportunities for every student. Throughout the year, participants will engage in collaborative professional learning around WA new Science and Math Standards, high-quality STEM instruction, multilingual learner practices, literacy and additional topics shaped by district interests and emerging needs.
