Description

This course will help educators increase their ability to become more self-aware of their own emotions and to implement practices that will help them to manage stress and overall mental health well-being. The class participants will dig deeper into how to embrace their own imperfections and develop a sense of grace and empathy for their colleagues and students. The three gifts of imperfection that Brene outlines in her book include courage, compassion and connection. There is a workbook that goes along with this book, and the facilitators would use it to provide multiple opportunities for participants to self-reflect and share their insights within small groups. Participants will also be encouraged to keep a journal throughout the class and summarize at the end of our sessions, what they have learned and what they may plan to do differently based on our time together.
