Paraprofessionals contribute significantly to effective reading programs, but they must be trained in the process of how children learn to read and how to employ evidence-based methods. This training series will develop foundational knowledge, of the reading brain, the simple view of reading, Scarborough's reading rope, the six components of literacy development (oral language, phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension), and strategies to benefit all students.
