Supporting the Integrated Student Support Protocol through MTSS
A Hands-On Planning Session for District Leaders to Support School Improvement and Integrated Supports through MTSS
-
Event Cancelled
Hi all, I hope this email finds you well! I know many of you are wrapping up the 2024–25 school year this week, and I hope the finish is going smoothly. After hearing from several of you, we’ve decided to cancel the June 18 work session on the OSPI Integrated Student Supports (ISS) Self-Assessment tool. Many districts are navigating scheduling conflicts tied to end-of-year activities and staff transitions into summer break. Instead, we’ll connect with each district team that signed up—either in person or over Zoom—to keep the momentum going. We also plan to offer an optional support session in early Fall for anyone who would like additional guidance. If you didn’t sign up for the June session due to scheduling conflicts, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re happy to find another time to support you. If I don’t see you until Fall, I hope you enjoy a restful, well-deserved summer. Take time to step away from work and enjoy time with family and friends! Description
District leaders play a pivotal role in orchestrating cohesive strategies that bridge various educational frameworks. This interactive four-hour session is designed to guide district administrators through the effective utilization of the Building Assessment tool to align Integrated Student Supports (ISS), Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), and School Improvement Plans (SIP).
Participants will delve into the components of the Building Assessment, gaining insights into how it reflects and informs MTSS practices and ISS protocols. Through collaborative exercises, attendees will learn to identify leverage points and gaps, facilitating a more integrated approach to student support and school improvement.
The session will also provide practical strategies for translating assessment data into actionable steps within SIPs, ensuring that plans are data-driven and aligned with district-wide objectives. By the end of the workshop, district leaders will have a clearer roadmap for fostering systemic coherence, enhancing the effectiveness of support structures across schools.
