If so, this Professional Learning Community is for you! How do we know if students truly understand the mathematics that we teach?  Join your colleagues as we dig into the big ideas that support mathematics in grades 3-5.  

This robust and highly engaging professional learning is based on the work by mathematician John SanGiovanni in his book, Mine the Gap For Mathematical Understanding.  We will explore big mathematical ideas through high-quality tasks by anticipating student thinking, identifying misconceptions in student work and planning for next instructional steps.  Participants may also use this professional learning as a guide for grade level PLC teams.
