Description
LETRS® (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) empowers educators with the knowledge and tools to apply the Science of Reading in any classroom—regardless of curriculum. This professional learning series equips you to effectively teach reading and language skills to all students. Built on the principle that “teachers, not programs, teach students to read,” LETRS helps you become the expert your students need.
Why Choose LETRS Volume 1?
- Build Deep Understanding: Explore the science behind how children learn to read and spell. Understand the cognitive processes involved and how assessment informs prevention and differentiation.
- Strengthen Foundational Instruction: Develop a strong grasp of phonological awareness (development, instruction, and assessment) to support early reading success.
- Deliver Comprehensive Literacy Instruction: Master phonics instruction by understanding the structure and predictability of English orthography. Learn how to assess and teach phonics and word recognition effectively.
- Expand with Advanced Strategies: Learn to teach morphology, spelling, and fluency to strengthen students’ decoding and word recognition skills.
