Description
The Safety-Care for School-Age Children module is a supplemental training designed to build on the Safety-CareĀ® Core Curriculum. This module provides staff working with children in preschool through grade 8 with additional skills and strategies tailored to the unique needs of younger learners. Participants will gain practical tools to create supportive environments, teach peers how to respond effectively to challenging behaviors, and manage age-appropriate expectations. The module also covers specialized physical safety techniques, including small-person physical interventions, and introduces mat blocking as an alternative to physical interventions (distinct from pad blocking). By addressing developmental considerations and the dynamics of peer interactions, this training equips staff to foster safer, more positive learning environments for school-age children.
