Today she’s going to tell you about a resource that unifies two important parts of her body of work: The Reading Strategies Book and the comprehension-goal progressions in her brand-new Understanding Texts & Readers. When Jen had her own classroom and later, as a consultant with The Teachers College Reading and Writing Project, she that as children transition to chapter books as readers, she often needed a more in-depth comprehension assessment that would help her better understand how students were making sense of their books and where to pinpoint instruction. So, she created a whole-book assessment.
