Description
Over the course of the two-day initial training, participants will get an introduction to the Danielson Framework for teaching as a tool for examining and improving teacher learning and teaching practice. Participants will have the ability to connect with other professionals and develop a professional learning community that focuses on improving student learning. By the end of this stage participants will:
- Understand the overall structure, the language, and Common Themes of the Framework for Teaching.
- Know the domains and components of the Framework for Teaching and be able to identify examples of practice that illustrate those components.
- Identify the essential characteristics of each of the Frameworkâs levels of performance.
- Know and understand the Framework for Teaching
- As a tool for supporting effective and equitable teaching practices.
- As it relates to the Collaborative Observation Process.
- As it is used for teacher professional growth.
Intended Audience: Principals, Assistant Principals, and central office staff who evaluate teachers under the TPEP evaluation system.
Event Notes
You will need to have a print copy of The Framework for Teaching Evaluation Instrument by Charlotte Danielson. The official 2011 version is available for free download from the OSPI website or for purchase as a hard copy online. You may use the 2013 version, but readings and documents in the training sessions use the 2011 version.
