Description
We are pleased to offer days one through four of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) with Dr. Flint Simonsen. The main ideas that define school-wide PBIS include:
- whole school approach to behavior;
- investment in preventing problem behavior;
- actively teaching and rewarding expected behaviors;
- consistent consequences for challenging behaviors;
- establish environments that are predictable;
- use different practices for different levels (primary, secondary, tertiary) of behavior support;
- implementation of the systems needed to support evidence-based practices
- commitment to ongoing self-evaluation and planning for implementation; and
- collection and use of data for decision-making.
NWESD is offering Team Registration for this event consisting of teams of 4-5 members. Teams should include an administrator (required), teachers (general and special education), counselors, paraeducators, bus drivers, coaches, building support, and related services staff.
