| Are you curious about "ChatGPT" and how to create prompts?

Here’s your opportunity to explore, at your own pace, the basics of ChatGPT and prompting through guided demonstrations in this completely online, asynchronous course!


This course is designed to acquaint you with the essential characteristics and capabilities of ChatGPT, how to create basic prompts, and help you identify further topics you'd like to explore. Additionally, participants will identify how ChatGPT can be used in STEM-related careers.


Whether you are completely new to ChatGPT, simply curious about it, or have some prior experiences with it, this course is for you! 


Participants who complete this course might find value in continuing to learn about ChatGPT through additional AI courses offered by ESD 105 and other ESD regions throughout Washington.


IMPORTANT NOTE: Participants will be provided with COPPA and OpenAI policies/age requirements and will be expected to follow those requirements in addition to all laws, regulations, and their district/school policies for their use of ChatGPT as a teacher as well as directing students in the use of ChatGPT.

A note from the course presenter: This course is designed so that participants WILL be able to complete this course WITHOUT A CHATGPT account by utilizing the video demonstrations and resources provided within the course. While participants might benefit most from immediate practice using their own ChatGPT account and using the provided resources, some participants might not yet have access to ChatGPT through their school or be comfortable with creating a personal ChatGPT account. Therefore, no requirement exists for participants to have access to a ChatGPT accountThe intention is that all participants will benefit from participating in the activities regardless of access to a ChatGPT account.

Important to review before registering for this course: 

  • ⏱All activities must be completed by the identified course end date/time.

  • ESD 105's policy is clock hour attendance verification can take up to 10 days from the end of an event. For this asynchronous/at-your-own-pace course, clock hours will be validated approximately every 3 weeks during the course and then again within 10 days after the course ends. Please plan to complete ALL course activities to meet your timeline needs.
