Description

Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach neighbors, teachers, parents, peers, and caring adults how to help a youth or teen who is experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge or is in crisis. The course discusses mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and provides guidance through the ALGEE action plan for both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, and disorders in which psychosis may occur.

Event Notes

This training is in-person on Saturday, May 18. It is intended for district staff of Goldendale School District, as well as invited staff from the greater Klickitat County school districts. The date range listed is for the asynchronous portion of the course, which needs to be completed in advance of the in-person training.
