This Community of Practice (CoP) designed for K-12 school counselors seeking to effectively utilize Evidence-Based Practices in school counseling.  Evidence-Based Practices are essential for the alignment of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and Comprehensive School Counseling Program (CSCP). This community of practice combines synchronous virtual collaboration meetings with asynchronous learning activities, allowing participants to deeply explore, discuss, and develop practices and resources to support school counseling practice and MTSS alignment.

Format:

• 6 synchronous virtual sessions (60 minutes each)
• Asynchronous reading, discussion, or learning activities between virtual sessions
• Up to 12 clock hours available (6 synchronous, 6 asynchronous)

Although not required, the ASCA publication "Making MTSS Work" is recommended and will support participants in discussion and development of evidence based practices across the tiers. If you're interested, the book can be purchased through ASCA Bookstore, Amazon, AbeBooks, or your preferred book seller.

The ASCA National Model A Framework for School Counseling Programs, 5th Edition, will also be utilized and will be available to download at no-cost from the ASCA website in the Fall 2025.

For participants who attended the School Counseling Community of Practice (CoP) during the 24-25 SY, this is NOT a repeat of that course and will provide new content that will continue to build your knowledge and work on MTSS and CSCP alignment with an emphasis on evidence-based practices.
