This in-person workshop will take participants through a step-by-step process and utilize FEMA’s guiding principles and best practices for writing a comprehensive Emergency Operations Plan (EOP). Participants will learn tips, utilize planning and assessment tools, and complete activities that will generate key components of their school safety plan. Participants will be given a template for writing a comprehensive plan.
Additionallhy, participants will take a deeper look at Understanding the Situation - Step 2 of the Six Step Planning Process for writing a comprehensive school safety plan. Participants will learn about the types of assessments that are needed for writing a comprehensive plan, how to add crime prevention as a critical component of school safety planning, and practice using standardized assessment tools that help prioritize specific threat and hazard planning.
