- WELCOME AND INTRODUCTION
- Brief review of basic concepts of threat assessment
- Introduce materials
- History and justification
- BASIC PRINCIPLES AND SUPPORTIVE RESEARCH
- Brief review of youth violence, examining research and best practices perspective recommendations for assessment and management
- Review of dynamics and risk factors for reactive aggression and targeted violence within K-12 schools
- SYSTEMS, PROTOCOLS, APPLICATION
- Brief review of Level 1 protocol as a reference to the Level 2 team
- Application of threat assessment concepts and research in a community-based protocol, called Level 2
- Direct instruction on conducting Level 2 assessments
- Review of a centralized and community-based Level 2 thread assessment system
- Review local and regional resources and implementation issues for each school district.
- Review available youth-serving agency supports for a community-based Level II team.
- Brainstorm process to adapt Level 2 team and those resources.
- Case study exercise and Q & A (as time permits)
