Leadership Team Strand

Transition your staff, students, and community to an engaging distance learning model.  The Washington Association of Educational Service Districts (AESD) is proud to partner with international education consultant Jeff Utecht to offer district teams a three-week plan that provides a structure for moving to distance learning together. No matter where your school or district is at in the distance/virtual learning process, there is a cohort that is customized to meet your unique needs. This implementation plan consists of 3 phases presented over 6 virtual sessions:

  • Phase 1:  Creating a Learning System
  • Phase 2:  Preparing for Learning
  • Phase 3:  New Learning Begins

Identifying your Distance Learning Leadership Team:

Your Distance Learning Leadership Team will guide your system’s approach to distance learning. The ideal learning teams will be composed of district and/or building leaders working with staff who put plans into practice.  Participants on this team will:

  • Set the vision and communicate with the larger school community
  • Be responsible for implementation district-wide

In addition to district and building leaders, your Distance Learning Leadership Team might include teaching & learning staff, instructional coaches, technology specialists, and others who will support this transition.

Cost:

Register your District/School Distance Learning Team for $1,000 (A team of 4 individuals is recommended.) This team will focus on and guide your entire system’s approach to distance learning.

Register your district team for one of 4 cohorts below, based on capacity level by clicking on the appropriate blue capacity level button:

High Online Capacity

We are only focusing on 6th-12th or 9th-12th grade students learning online.  This is intended for schools who are 1:1 and know their students are connected.

Low Online Capacity

Less than 60% of our families have a device or Internet access

Dates/Times:

The six virtual team meeting sessions will focus on a phased-in approach to distance learning.  Each session will consist of a one-hour presentation via Zoom, time for teams to ask questions for support, and actionable steps that teams must take to continue to build their distance learning system. Each action step aligns with OSPI’s priorities for administrators: Compassion, Communication, and Common Sense. Zoom session times will be emailed out after registration is made.

Event Notes

Zoom session times will be emailed to participants after registration is complete.
