Para-educators are a valuable resource within the educational system. Utilizing para-educators is vital in supporting effective outcomes for students with disabilities. In the first session, teachers and para-educators will focus on the collaboration process. Together the partners will define roles and an effective communication process that supports positive outcomes for students. In the second session, teachers will learn how to support their para-educator by: planning tasks that ensure active student engagement; provide strategies to help the para-educator support multiple learners, encourage independence and collect student data.
