Discover the power of integrating writing and science to support student growth in alignment with the upcoming revised Washington standards. Participants will explore the shifts in the Writing Standards and the potential impact of content integration. Through phenomena-based science inquiry writing, educators will experience strategies that deepen student understanding and engagement. This course will also focus on building skills in content integration, helping teachers create meaningful, cross-disciplinary learning experiences that enhance both scientific thinking, literacy development and formative assessments. Additionally, the course will highlight strategies to support students with disabilities and English language learners, ensuring equitable access to science learning through effective writing practices.
