Are you looking for powerful strategies to better support multilingual learners and raise achievement for all students? Whether you are new to the SIOP® Model or looking to deepen your expertise, the ESD 123 SIOP® Summer Academy is the place to be!

SIOP®  has helped educators for over 25 years plan and deliver instruction that makes content and academic language accessible to every learner. Grounded in eight essential components — from lesson preparation to review and assessment — SIOP® offers a proven framework that strengthens teaching across all grade levels and content areas.

During this engaging, hands-on academy, participants will explore how to:

• Write effective content and language objectives tied to standards and the WIDA framework
  
  

• Design meaningful, comprehensible learning activities connected to students’ backgrounds
  
  

• Support students’ productive struggle and deepen cognitive engagement
  
  

• Promote student interaction, discussion, and ownership of learning
  
  

• Plan, deliver, and assess instruction that is cohesive, challenging, and empowering for multilingual learners and beyond

At ESD 123’s SIOP® Summer Academy, K-12 educators will participate in:

• Two full days of in-person training (August 12–13) to build a strong foundation

• Four virtual follow-up sessions throughout the school year to support implementation, collaboration, and ongoing growth

Participants will receive the 6th Edition of Making Content Comprehensible for Multilingual Learners: The SIOP® Model textbook to support their continued learning.
