Description

This course is designed for teachers in 3rd-8th Grade that are ready to start implementing UDL Practices in their science instruction.

In Session #1 (in person),  participants will gain an understanding of the UDL Framework, and what needs to be considered when designing lessons. Next, teachers will be immersed in a Science & Engineering lesson as a student. The lesson will focus on the NGSS of waves. At the completion of the lesson immersion and engineering challenge teachers will be given time to debrief the UDL practices embedded in the immersion experience and reflect on how they will incorporate them into their own science lessons.

In Session #2 (Zoom) participants will engage in another virtual mini lesson and then engage in conversation with colleagues on successes and challenges they have experienced so far in the implementation process. Teachers will receive feedback and support to continue UDL practices in classrooms.

In Session #3 (Zoom) participants will present and share their efforts to design lessons with the UDL framework to improve and optimize teaching and learning for all people.
