Each elementary school will be provided one day 6.5 hours of Counting Collection Training for 1st Gr. The same agenda will be used at each site with slight difference dues to building start & end time, as well as recess times vary from building to building.   The dates are as follows:

September 22 - Columbia Heights  

September 23 - CVG

September 24 - Robert Gray

September 25 - Olympic 

September 29 St Helens

September 30 - Mint Valley

October 1 - Kessler

October 2 - Northlake 

High Impact Educations Consulting - Kimberly Dennis will be providing a day of professional development across all eight elementary schools. This purpose of this training:

Develop and build a shared common understanding of the high yield number sense routine, Counting Collections with elementary teachers, principals and the instructional coaches using the studio model.

Plan, implement and debrief a classroom protocol that teachers and instructional coaches can use in future site-based job-embedded professional development at their school sites.

The one-day studio model will provide coaches and principals the pedagogical look-fors and the standards-based content knowledge of the routine Counting Collections as outlined in the Longview First Grade Pacing Guide.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The consultant will work with individual buildings as outlined on the attached agenda. She will work with a cohort of instructional coaches and elementary principals in first grade classrooms to highlight the components of the instructional routine Counting Collections.
