KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:
Dr. Melissa Reeves, Ph.D, NCSP, LPC is a nationally certified school psychologist, licensed special education teacher, licensed professional counselor, and former district coordinator of social/emotional/behavioral services. She is past president of the National Association of School Psychologists (2016-17) and has over 20 years’ experience working in public schools and a private school, in addition to providing mental health services in day and residential treatment settings. Currently, Dr. Reeves is a threat assessment & mental health specialist and senior advisor and speaker for Safe and Sound Schools, an organization founded by two parents who lost their children in the Sandy Hook tragedy. She is also a consultant and trainer for SIGMA Threat Management Associates (a Raptor affiliate), Safer Schools Together (SST), and Public Consulting Group (PCG).
Dr. Manny Tau, Psy.D., is a clinical & forensic psychologist specialized in threat assessments and active threat management, and a Certified Threat Manager by the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals. He has been extensively used as a workplace, school-place, personal violence and threat management consultant throughout the United States, and provides expert consultation and testimony for attorneys in the various legal arenas. Dr. Tau has over 25 years of experience performing threat assessment and threat management services in the private and public sectors, which included support of law enforcement agencies and professional security firms. He has provided trainings related to threat assessments and threat management to the California Bar Association, the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, the Supreme Court of Nevada, the Orange County Intelligence Assessment Center, the San Diego Sheriff’s Department Threat Assessment Group, the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Dr. Tau currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals, San Diego Chapter.
Dr. Stephanie Stein Leite is the principal at Forensic Intelligence, LLC. She has worked with high-risk children, adolescents, and adults for over 25 years focusing on the prevention of violence. She is a psychologist holding licenses in Connecticut, New York, Vermont, Massachusetts, and many other states through PsyPact. She is the recent past president of the New England Chapter of Threat Assessment Professionals, the past president of the forensic division of the Connecticut Psychological Association, and is affiliated with the University of Hartford and Columbia University. She is a peer reviewer for the Journal of Threat Assessment and Management. She loves complex chewy cases and is always available and approachable.
Jill Lemond, Vice President of Education at Evolv Technology. Jill is a proud member of the Evolv team after serving the Oxford Community Schools District for over twelve years, most recently as the Assistant Superintendent of Safety & School Operations. She has seen the power of community and learned invaluable lessons in school safety in the wake of an unthinkable tragedy. She joined Evolv because of our clear mission to keep weapons out of our schools.
