Description

It's time to grow your understanding of fluency in mathematics and how it all begins! Join colleagues for a blended professional learning (1 day In-person and then Zoom sessions) over the year that will dig deeper into how to structure and implement equitable learning for all students as they work toward fluency in the basic facts for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.  This is an essential goal for all students and is the foundation on which fluency in mathematics and computation is based!

This robust and highly interactive professional learning will elevate the five fundamentals designed for strategy use within the curriculum you have in place grounding the math learning and retention through routines, games and authentic assessments that will support students on their learning journey to basic fact fluency and importantly share teaching moves, strategies, and resources designed to build student identity and agency thus inviting each and every student into higher level mathematics.

There is reading required in Google Classroom required before our first meeting on August 12, 2025 if participants want a total of 15 STEM clock hours.  The book will be provided to all participants in attendance on August 12th.

CLOCK HOURS ARE A SEPARATE FEE.

Event Notes

This professional learning is based on  the work of Jennifer Bay-Williams and Gina Kling in their book, Math Fact Fluency: 60+ Games and Assessment Tools to Support Learning and Retention.  Participants will find the book to be an essential resource in growing fluent learners and is therefore provided as part of registration.

Additionally, following the in-person session on August 12th, participants must be able to meet monthly and will need to manage multiple tabs during sessions, be familiar with Google Slides to get the most out of this professional learning. The workshop is not suitable to access from a smartphone.

ZOOM LINK WILL BE EMAILED TO PARTICIPANTS A DAY PRIOR TO THE START OF THE VIRTUAL MEETING IN SEPTEMBER.

Sessions will not be recorded.
