Description
This course equips participants with the knowledge and skills to serve as a Parent Designated Adult in the school setting, supporting students with diabetes. It promotes educational equity by preparing caregivers to create safe, inclusive, and therapeutic learning environments. The training is interactive and scenario-based, helping participants recognize and address barriers that students with diabetes may face in accessing their education. Through guided discussions, real-life examples, and practical strategies, PDAs learn how to collaborate with families, school staff, and healthcare providers to ensure students receive consistent, culturally responsive care. The course emphasizes self-awareness, partnership, and advocacy to support equitable learning opportunities for all students.
