KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:

Kristina Anderson Froling (Koshka Foundation) is an international advocate in the fields of bystander intervention, active shooter response and violence prevention within schools, workplaces and public      spaces.Kristina is founder of the Koshka Foundation for Safe Schools, a non-profit that provides training on the prevention of school and workplace violence, education on active shooter preparedness, and consultation on post-crisis recovery. Ms. Froling travels extensively within the United States and Canada to spread the importance of preparedness and joint training between citizens, educators, law enforcement, emergency managers, and first responders. Ms. Froling started the non-profit after becoming one of the most critically injured survivors of the 2007 Virginia Tech school tragedy, where she was shot 3 times. Ms. Froling is also co-founder of LiveSafe, a mobile technology communication platform for sharing safety-related information that is used by over 100 college campuses, as well as corporations and hospitals.


Brian LeBlanc, (Federal Bureau of Investigation) is a Supervisory Special Agent in the Boston Office of the FBI, where he supervises the Domestic Terrorism and Threat Response Squad of the Joint Terrorism Task Force. Since joining the FBI in 2007, SA LeBlanc has specialized in complex counterterrorism investigations, as well as in the mitigation of terrorism threats as a WMD specialist and bomb technician. SA LeBlanc has led counterterrorism investigations domestically and internationally throughout South America, the Caribbean and Africa. SA LeBlanc has also served as the FBI counterterrorism specialist assigned to U.S. Special Operations Command (SOC) in Afghanistan as well as a long-term assignment to the FBI Legal Attaché Office at the U.S. Embassy Nairobi, Kenya.


John Van Dreal, (Chief Architect, Violence Prevention, Public Consulting Group) is a school psychologist and owner of John Van Dreal Consulting, a practice dedicated to assisting school districts and other organizations improve psychological safety and peace of mind by building effective systems for violence prevention, mitigation, and response. Previously John was the director of security, safety, and risk management for the Salem-Keizer School District in Oregon. John began the development and implementation of the Salem-Keizer Cascade Model, a multiagency student violence prevention and behavioral threat assessment (BTA) system, in 1999. With more than 30 years of experience in preventive BTA and management, psycho-educational evaluation, crisis intervention, behavioral intervention, and security and risk management systems consultation, his program is considered the gold standard by both the FBI and the U.S. Department of Education.
